Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS support program where you can live with other people who also require some support, or on your own. Our friendly and qualified team members will be available to help you with everyday tasks like cooking, housework, and personal care. Each group of housemates is carefully selected to ensure a great mix, so you’ll be able to enjoy making new friends and socialising while developing your independence. We are here to support you in achieving your goals and living the life you want. Therefore, each house has slightly different programs to suit the residents and their individual needs.

You’ll be joining a friendly and lively household with two wonderful women in their early thirties. They are fun, outgoing, and love spending time together, whether it’s listening to music, trying out exciting new recipes in the kitchen, or just kicking back and relaxing. If you’re a popcorn lover, you’ll fit right in—your new roommates adore movie nights, and you can look forward to many evenings filled with laughter and your favourite films.
One of your roommates works part-time in supported employment, bringing a great balance of independence and social time to the house. The other attends a community support program in Newcastle, where she enjoys a variety of activities and connects with others. Both are warm, welcoming, and excited to meet someone who shares their love for good company, creativity, and making the most of each day.

Your Support and Funding
Challenge will provide you with 24/7 support staff, including overnight sleepovers or active support. Our staff are committed to providing you with a high level of support to develop and build life skills, including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cooking, maintaining the living environment, and social skills. We will encourage you to be active in the local community.
To live in this home, you must have NDIS funding for Supported Independent Living. Challenge residential fees include your rent, food, utilities, home maintenance, internet access, basic Foxtel, communal appliances, and communal area furniture.
