Samantha (Sam) is a Social Worker and Behaviour Support Practitioner who joined Challenge Allied Health in August 2023 as part of our East Maitland team. Sam graduated with a degree in Social Work from the University of Newcastle in 2018 and moved into a role of supporting young people and their families who had been impacted by cancer. In her current role Sam works with young people in out of home care and NDIS clients across the lifespan providing behaviour support interventions and plan development (including restrictive practises) to establish strategies for her clients to assist and manage behaviours. Sam likes to keep curiosity, creativity, and humour as present as possible in her day-to-day practice and looks to be a compassionate bystander in the lives of those she supports in her role at Challenge. Outside of work you will find Sam spending time with her pets, listening to music, and playing video games.
